MINDLOVE Online Therapy
About the Therapist: Dr Paula García Chaves

My work as a therapist is rooted in both lived experience and long-term professional practice. My approach is shaped by study, deep listening, long-term therapeutic support of others through pain and change, and a steady commitment to compassion as a clinical skill.
I offer a therapeutic space that is calm, ethical, highly sensitive, and deeply human — where mind, body, and emotional life are welcomed together. Therapy here is not rushed, performative, or prescriptive; it is a safe, inclusive, thoughtful space where we move at the pace your nervous system needs. My intention is to meet you with seriousness, warmth, and deep respect for the complexity of your inner world.

My therapeutic approach blends Psychoanalysis with Buddhist Psychology, integrating depth-oriented exploration with mindfulness, ethical presence, and compassion. Together, we learn how to navigate experiences of violence, fear, grief and emotional suffering with steadiness and care, cultivating the Courage of Compassion as a path toward meaningful relief. This work honors both insight and embodiment, allowing understanding and nervous system regulation to unfold together.
As a humanitarian activist for Human Rights, Equality, and Peace, I stand in professional and ethical alliance with individuals and communities who have been historically marginalized and vulnerabilized through structural and systemic violence and exclusion. I am committed to offering a safe, respectful and dignifying therapeutic space for LGBTQIA+ individuals, neurodivergent people, and communities of color, among others. This work is informed not only by professional responsibility, but also by lived experience and belonging within these communities. It is woven into my clinical practice and personal values.

As a vegan and anti-speciesism activist, my work is guided by a commitment to radical compassion towards a broader vision of a healthier mental and relational world. I understand healing as a collective process, one that is deeply connected to the way we relate to animals, the natural world and life beyond ourselves. Approaching care with humility and grace, I believe that cultivating kindness toward oneself has the power to transform not only individual suffering, but also the way we move through the world and impact the lives of others.
